Fire Breathing Photography

Sometimes there’s nothing better than an unplanned shoot, which is exactly what happened a couple of weeks ago when Aurora Galore asked me if I’d mind doing some video work of her new fire breathing act for her dissertation at univeristy. Setting off into London with a camera kit and lots of flammables, we headed for the depths of one of London’s most popular underground cabaret venues. I’ll admit, this was probably one of the most unplanned shoots I’ve ever worked on, but the mix of ambient light in the background and the flickering glow of the flames made for a great little set up. It would be nice to experiment with a little more fire photography, if only there were more decadent venues in London that allowed performers with big naked flames…

Here’s one of the images from the day.
