The Hotel Awards, Mayfair

As one of my first ever photography jobs was in the Old Kent Road area, there has been a running joke for the last twelve months or so about me working my way around the Monopoly board during my photography carer. However, it seems the chance cards were on my side this time as I recently got an email from the lovely people behind the Boom Boom Club and La Reve, asking me if I’ be interested in shooting a corporate show at the Park Lane Hotel in Mayfair. Luckily I’d taken my camera with me to the SWPP convention that morning, so straight after the convention I hopped on the Picadilly line straight to the hotel, which is one of the most incredible buildings I’ve ever had the privilege of working in. Boasting decadent decor and high ceilings, the guests were treated to an installation piece in the Grecian lobby from burlesque artist Vicky Butterfly and her two dancers, before making their way downstairs to the ballroom, where compere for the evening Ophelia Bitz introduced a host of talented performers from all over the country. I can’t say much more about the event, but I’ll leave you with some of the pictures from the night. Enjoy!
