Swarovskis. Glitter. Feathers. Burlesque is such a beautiful subject to photograph.

I get a lot of requests for private tuition in burlesque and boudoir photography, so when I received a phone call from Melissa Love at the end of 2011 asking if I’d be interested in running a burlesque photography workshop in Brighton, I literally jumped at the chance!

Set against the magnificent Regency backdrop of the Proud Ballroom in Brighton, the workshop will be held on February 7th 2012. Hosted by Melissa Love Design and decadently styled by Hannah from The Tea Set, you’ll be treated to welcome coffee & cake before being split into small groups, where you’ll discover my top tips for lighting and posing a boudoir scene as well as the opportunity to have a go at shooting the scene yourself with guidance and advice from an experienced photographer.

Also, if that wasn’t enough for you already, you’ll also have the opportunity to shoot a groom & groomsmen in beautifully cut suits by celebrity tailor, Gresham Blake, on the streets of Brighton, a vintage open-top car arrival scene with red carpet paparazzi scenario and plenty of backstage Hollywood glamour. The afternoon will culminate with a live performance from some of the burlesque artists and a couple of glasses of champagne, so feel free to bring a change of clothes with you to help create a glamorous crowd scene.

So who is this workshop for? As a very hands on day, its a great opportunity for beginner and intermediate photographers to pick up some top tips to improve their skills, or a great opportunity for professionals to shoot pure decadence and expand their portfolio into a new area of photography. Melissa and Hannah have also arranged over £1,000 worth of fantastic prizes for the best images taken on the day, including a one-day training course with Aspire Photography Training and the chance to win a website and year’s web hosting from Melissa Love Design & Showit.

At a cost of £95 for a full day of glamour and decadence, its not surprising that tickets are almost sold out already, so make sure you get your hands on them as soon as possible! For more information and booking, please visit Burlesque and Boudoir now.
