The Boudoir & Burlesque Styled Shoot Day is a creative play dayfor photographers, designed to give you the freedom to explore your own creativity and experiment with images you wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to shoot in your day-to-day life. Although there will be no official teaching moments during our time in the art deco cocktail bar, Tigz Rice will be on hand throughout the event to offer technical advice on everything from posing and lighting to camera settings, making this event suitable for professional photographers and hobbyists alike.

Attendees will be limited to a maximum of 4 per half-day workshop, split into two groups of 2 photographers with a model each to work with. There will also be opportunities to shoot both models in one scene, with each photographer having the opportunity to direct.

Your camera, memory cards and 1-2 lenses of your choosing. There are no right or wrong camera lenses – whatever you feel most comfortable shooting with is perfect. Though if you were to push me for an answer, I would suggest bringing something in the 35-50mm range to shoot wide and capture some of the architecture, plus something in the 70-135mm range for close-ups and portraiture.

Lighting equipment will be made available for your use. You will also have the opportunity to shoot with available light if that’s more your style.

To access the iconic blue and gold bar, there is one very shallow step at the entrance. This floor is wheelchair friendly. To access the green tiki bar area (optional), you will need to be able to climb one flight of narrow stairs. This floor, unfortunately, is not wheelchair accessible. To make our Creative Play Days as financially accessible as possible for photographers, videographers, illustrators and content creators of all levels, our entire creative team (including the models, designers, stylists, locations, organisers and Tigz herself) have agreed to be compensated at their non-commercial rates. Therefore, unless otherwise agreed in advance in writing by Tigz Rice, any content created at our Creative Play Days must not be used for commercial gain in any form. In more simple terms, you cannot make a profit from the content you create at our Creative Play Days. This includes selling (licensing, stock imagery, product creation, book inclusion or on content sites) and publicising (press and PR) your content.

So what is allowed? As long as you are not receiving any form of financial gain (which includes gifted products and services in the form of an exchange), you can use any content you create at our Creative Play Days for personal use – including personal social media accounts, websites, blogs, vlogs and both print and digital portfolios. You may also include your images in portfolios for photography qualifications, including Licentiateship, Associateship and Fellowship – and we’d love to know if you pass! In return, all we ask is that the full creative team are credited each and every time, whether it be on a photo, video, BTS content, blog, vlog, Instagram Story, Reel… you get the idea. And what happened if you created something epic at our Creative Play Days and you REALLY want to use it for commercial purposes? Well, we are certainly open to having this discussion with you. Any commercial usage will need to be negotiated and agreed in writing by Tigz Rice as well as the model and the location. Please note that additional fees and/or royalties may apply.
