It turns out 2016 has a lot of travelling in store for me, which all started a few weeks into January with an invite to speak at Photo Training Overseas.

For those of you that haven’t heard of Photo Training Overseas, it is an annual event run by George and Glenys Dawber that combines great locations with the opportunity to learn and talk about photography with a variety of presenters from all over the industry. Having just celebrated their 29th annual event, I was excited to hear that we were headed to Lanzarote for a bit of winter sun!

As part of the week long event, I was invited to host a series of boudoir workshops, giving an insight into my world as a boudoir photographer. Working with burlesque performer and model Felicity Furore, we provided delegates with a posing masterclass and meet the model Q&A session, followed by the opportunity to take photographs in a range of traditional pin up poses throughout the boudoir. We were also privileged to have lingerie samples provided for the week by Kiss Me Deadly and Ayten Gasson, along with a few pieces from Felicity’s own lingerie collection- including Triumph and What Katie Did.

The hands on photographic element of the workshop was split into two parts, allowing delegates the opportunity to work indoors both indoors and outdoors with the glorious Lanzarote sunshine, creating two distinct looks (hence splitting my PTO images into two blog posts). These images were all captured using natural light from the floor to ceiling balcony doors, the net curtains acting like a soft box to diffuse the light perfectly.  It was great to see everyone getting involved and asking lots of questions. PTO attracts a wonderful bunch of photographers and it was a real pleasure to share my little pocket of knowledge with such an enthusiastic group of photographers.

It was so much fun shooting boudoir overseas, and hopefully this will be the start of many experiences travelling the world to shoot boudoir, lingerie or even fashion!
