BlossomandButtercups aka Sam Elson is a regular face in front of my camera and is one of those wonderful humans that are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Having worked together on many vintage lingerie and fashion campaigns over the years for brands including Zoe Vine and What Katie Did – and modelling for my own Boudoir Masterclass events – I thought it was finally time to catch up with BlossomandButtercups as this month’s featured guest…

How would your best friend describe you? “My best friend Sam is my insanely funny, energetic, bright and quick witted partner in crime. Selective with who she spends her time with, shes incredibly loyal once you are friends, happy to listen and understand both my joy and pain, the kind of friend you don’t need anyone else there because you know that with just the two of you, the night is going to be crazy/criminal/unbelievable/ends at 5am with a pizza in one hand and 10 new numbers in the other. “

Name three things that you always carry with you? Top up lipstick, headphones, a book 

What was the last book you read? Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl- read it, read it, read it! 

Who would play BlossomandButtercups in a movie of your life? Alicia Vikander 

Whats the most interesting thing about you that the internet doesn’t know about you yet? I’ve just gotten onto the conscious community path. I have come back from Guatemala wanting to embrace myself wholly as a woman. This includes discarding shame, guilt and embarrassment about my body and my experiences, accepting and celebrating my inner feminine and discovering new ways to heal wounds and be proud of all that I am, all that I want and all that I am yet to achieve. 

Tell us about one of the outfits you wore for our bridal boudoir shoot – why do you love it? Everything Rosie Red Corsetry creates is a stunning piece of art. It was an absolute dream come true to bring life to that. 

Describe your shoot experience? Fabulous as always. Tigz makes you feel like a goddess and you can see the results of feeling that way in the pictures. 

What song gets you on the dancefloor? Sean Paul – Get Busy 

What are you most proud of in your career so far? Being able to use my platform to help others who struggle with mental health issues. 

What is your top body confidence tip? Follow people on social media who are unapologetically themselves. Challenge the inner patriarchal restrictions and contradictions that have been imbedded in you on a daily basis. You are strong. You are brave. You are beautiful. 

What will your autobiography be called? …I don’t know!! 

If you could be a model for any lingerie brand, which brand would it be and why? Cristina Aielli because I’ve never seen such incredible, delicate, shape friendly lingerie designs.  Also, every corset company that would be interested, because it’s no secret that I love corsetery… especially when the designs are unique and you can create whole narratives, concepts and characters around a piece. 

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about booking a boudoir session of their own? You have nothing to worry about. You are in the best hands – [Tigz] is kind, thoughtful, gives direction and encouragement whenever you need and will 100% come back to you with photos you’ll cherish. 

What exciting project are you working on right now? Painting portraits of old people for an eventual exhibition, as well as working with my new agent to get into the world of voice over!
