Without a doubt, THE GREATEST THING that has come out of being on social media for me is getting to meet so many fierce, fabulous like-minded boss-women. From fellow creatives and mental health warriors to body positive, sex positive feminists, I feel so lucky that some of these women choose to step in front of my camera, telling their own story and showing the world how badass they are! One such boss-women is the inimitable CurvesCocktales – AKA Vanessa – who joined Miss Victory Violet and I on our vintage pinup makeover shoots at Planet Sputnik in 2018. I caught up with CurvesCocktales to find out more about her, including what inspired her to book a boudoir shoot….

Occupation: I live my life online (like all millennials right?). Mainly on Instagram. I’m myself an in doing so, hope that other people who may have similar issues or worries as my own, will see that they’re not the only ones and it’s okay. I have an Only Fans site, where some of more ‘erotic’ work can be found. It was a big decision whether or not to do this, mainly because I was worried of the opinions of those who know me. I decided in the end, I’m happy being nude and there is no reason I should be ashamed of this.
How would your best friend describe you? A crazy whore. Which sounds terrible, but she’s the best person I know, and whenever she actually does call me that, it reminds me that “I’m Okay”.
Name three things that you always carry with you? Lip balm, an array of pain medication (not recreational!) and my phone.
What was the last book you read? “This Book Will Save Your Life” A.M.Homes
What inspired you to book a photoshoot? I’d done my first shoot earlier in the year after entering a competition and it gave me the confidence to book one. I’d been following Tigz online for sometime, so knew she was the woman for me. In all the shots Tigz shares, women look so totally at ease, sensual and incredibly stunning. When I saw the Planet Sputnik location I jumped as it was so beautiful.
Who would play CurvesCocktales in a movie of your life? A young Jennifer Saunders. In a fat suit.
Whats the most interesting thing about you that the internet doesn’t know about you yet? I’m an over sharer, so I think the internet knows most of my darkest secrets. I hate jelly.
Tell us about one of the outfits you wore for your shoot – why do you love it? The Dita Von Teese for Catherine D’Lish robe. It’s the most extravagant thing I own. It was a gift from my aunt, who has a love of decadence. I will never wear it round the house (for one, my dog is scared of the marabou and barks at it), and it’s just too elegant for daily wear. When I was given it, I thought how incredibly lucky I was to be able to own something so beautiful. Having it photographed was a must.
Describe your shoot experience: Sweaty to start with. It was one of the hottest days of the year, and getting into a Bettie Page Lingerie longline bra and suspender belt is a difficult sticky process. Tigz could tell I was a little flustered and was patient and lovely whilst I air dried. The shoot itself was great fun. It felt really empowering looking so badass with a flogger and great big heels amongst the delicate pink sofa.
What song gets you on the dancefloor? Four Non Blondes “What’s Up?”
What are you most proud of in your career so far? Being featured on the BBC discussing poe dancing and being fat. And every single time I receive a message from someone saying that I’ve helped them feel better about their body or mental health by just being me.
What is your top body confidence tip? Everyone has their own body hang ups. No one is looking at yours, just their own. I think once you can recognise that, it’s easier to stop worrying so much about your own perceived flaws.
What will your autobiography be called? I like that the question is “will” not “would”, so it’s inevitably going to happen. “There are worse things than Chlamydia” (awaits book deal)
If you could be a model for any brand, which brand would it be and why? Playful Promises. I love their underwear. They have two beautiful models in their 60s. I want to still be wearing underwear that sexy in thirty years.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about booking a session of their own? Absolutely do it. Make sure to plan some outfits, though you don’t need to spend a fortune. Even if it’s only you who will see the photos, it’s worth every penny.
What exciting project are you working on right now? Well, I’ve just started my very first cross stitch. I suspect you were looking for something a little more outrageous than that, but that’s just me. Perhaps I’ll start on the autobiography.
