I LOVE when I get to shoot with new faces, which is why I always get excited when makeover days are coming up in the diary. March was an exciting one, because its the first time I’ve ever taken a makeover day abroad, visiting Gothenburg with the wonderful Miss Victory Violet and getting to meet 6 amazing new women in the process. One of those amazing women was Georgie Glamour, who had travelled all the way from Norway to spend the day with us. Read on to find out more about Georgie’s reasons for booking a shoot and to see some of her gorgeous photos in Bettie Page Lingerie at Hotel Pigalle…
Name: Georgie Glamour
Occupation: IT Consultant in Financial Sector and model.
How your best friend would describe you: Ambitious procrastinator, glamorous!
Name three things that you always carry with you: Lipstick, compact mirror and my phone. If I can pick up an additional item it will be an emergency charger, as I am always on my phone.
What inspired you to book a photoshoot? I’ve followed both [Tigz Rice and Miss Victory Violet] for a while, so it is a mix of your past work and styles that really inspired me, you both create such positive environments and powerful images. I have joined Miss Victory Violet for a few of her workshops and hair appointments when she has been in Norway. When I saw the teaser posts for this shoot in Gothenburg, I just needed to book myself a little getaway.
Who would play Georgie Glamour in a movie of your life? Kirsten Bell or Amy Poehler, maybe just because I adore them and both are a bit witty like me..? I am such a big fan of Veronica Mars and can binge watch Parks and Recreation over and over.
Whats the most interesting thing about you that the internet doesn’t know about you yet? I am really nerdy and I like computers. Growing up was with a lot of LAN gaming, and sometimes I still go to some with friends.
You also run your own vintage inspired clothing store, Garment. Can you tell us a little more about it? Garment was started by my good friend Torunn and myself early this year. We both love vintage clothing, but also own a lot of reproduction, and get asked about where we go shopping a lot. We can now point them to our own store! It is mainly vintage inspired reproduction brands and styles we personally love that we have in store, but we also thrive to find brands that meets our standards for production, quality and style we can introduce to our customers.
Tell us about one of the outfits you wore for your shoot – Who made it? Why do you love it? I got to shoot in two different outfits, so to select a favorite is kind of hard. Since it’s a little special and I wore it with both outfits, I will talk about my wings! For Garment we went on a purchasing trip to London Edge in February and I fell in love with these fairytale wings from Costurero Real. We got the shipment from them a few days before departing to Gothenburg and I just had to bring one of the pairs. The Moth Wings worked well with my lingerie from Bettie Page Lingerie, and my corset from What Katie Did. I felt so powerful spreading my wings and it really made a different look for both sets of boudoir inspired lingerie images.
What song gets you on the dancefloor? Almost any song really! It is more about who I dance with or a feeling or mood for the night. I will gladly dance and don’t need a special song to get going. I prefer to be with good friends, or if someone asks if I want to dance with them. I enjoy such a variety of different music, that it can almost be anything!
What are you most proud of in your career so far? I like change, improving my own skills and trying different things. I embrace change and will always go after perceived positive opportunities and learn from them if they end up being wrong.
What is your top body confidence tip? I am not sure I have one for just body confidence, but for the whole package of self-confidence – just be the best you possible. It does of course sound cheesy, but it is true. If you are reading this and contemplating a boudoir photoshoot, you will always get great pose coaching that will make you shine the best you with Tigz Rice! And doing a boudoir shoot always lifts my self-confidence ten-fold afterwards.
What will your autobiography be called? I am very reserved person and always have been, so I am sure my autobiography would include tidbits on how I see myself and the best version of me I try to be. “From demure to sparkling”
If you could be a model for any brand, which brand would it be and why? I have a few favorite brands I would love to work for, such as The Seamstress of Bloomsbury, Zoe Vine, Unique Vintage and The Pretty Dress Company. Mostly because I love their styles, quality in their work and their pattern construction and tailoring to female body shapes.
What exciting project are you working on right now? Right now, I am in between settling from Viva Las Vegas in April (yes, still decompressing from April) and deciding what should be my newest adventures this summer and fall. There are a few of my friends from the pinup and vintage style scene I would love to visit and try to get my money to take me to Poland, Russia, Croatia, France, United Kingdom and USA.
Love these images of Georgie Glamour? Want some of your own? Miss Victory Violet and I will be back at Hotel Pigalle in Gothenburg offering makeovers on 12-15th October 2018..
