I know I’ve mentioned it (many times) before, but Sweden is one of my favourite places in the world. So much so that I actually visited Gothenburg twice in 2018 with Miss Victory Violet, offering our Vintage Pinup Makeover Shoots at Hotel Pigalle. On our most recent trip, we were pleased to welcome pinup Rebecca Tropp. I caught up with Rebecca to find about more about the Swedish pinup and what made her book in for a vintage makeover shoot…
Name: Rebecca Tropp
How would your best friend describe you? My friends describe me as a very humble and caring with a lot of will when I want something.
Name three things that you always carry with you? I always carry my mobile, diary and purse with me.
What was the last book you read? I love scary novels I am currently reading The Outsider by Stephen King. I’ve totally fallen in love with this!
What inspired you to book a photoshoot? I wanted to challenge myself to do something for myself and to boost my own self-confidence. It is so great to have these pictures look back on and to feel incredibly feminine and beautiful.
Who would play Rebecca Tropp in a movie of your life? It would have to be Scarlett Johansson.
Whats the most interesting thing about you that the internet doesn’t know about you yet? Difficult question. It would probably be that I do not have many friends. I have a small group of close friends that I love dearly. It is also my dream to live in London at some point in my life [editor’s note: DO IT!]
Tell us about one of the outfits you wore for your shoot – why do you love it? I love Playful Promises. Here in Sweden we don’t have many stores that offer sensual, stylish underwear in larger sizes, but Playful Promises deliver stylish underwear that caters even for those of us with a larger bust and small waist. The set I wore for my vintage makeover shoot is so incredibly nice, featuring a beautiful nude pink tone with black lace. I enjoy wearing high waisted panties that accentuate my curves.
Describe your shoot experience? It was a fantastic experience! I was nervous because this was the first time I had taken part in a boudoir shoot, but both Tigz and Ella made me feel relaxed. Tigz is an incredible person who gives lots of posing direction during a shoot. I can also add that after this experience I feel more confident to do something like this again in the future – and I will want to do it again!
What song gets you on the dancefloor? I love music, especially old music, so hard to choose one. But I have a hard time standing still when Let’s Twist Again by Chubby Checker its playing on the dance floor! If I am at home, I prefer Solomon Burke, Johnny Cash and many more.
What are you most proud of in your career so far? I am so incredibly proud that I run my own beauty salon and that it is growing every year. It is a lot of work, but I am proud of what it has given me. It’s my second home.
What is your top body confidence tip? Stop being negative about yourself, you are unique and should be proud of your body. Try to see what makes you special ❤ Look at the mirror and embrace you. If you feel satisfied from the inside, your outsides will shine with your self-esteem.
What will your autobiography be called? ‘With difficulties, new roads will emerge.’
If you could be a model for any brand, which brand would it be and why? I love lingerie so it would be Playful Promises. There is no better feeling than wearing nice underwear and feeling feminine and beautiful. When it comes to clothing, my biggest dream is to be a model for Vixen by Micheline Pitt. Her clothes are a dream, and Micheline is such an intriguing woman.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about booking a session of their own? Relax and enjoy. Read through all the good advice you get from Tigz beforehand and bring several outfits – because on the day you may decide to wear something completely different from what you intended!
What exciting project are you working on right now? Right now I am interested in educating myself more in beauty and to opening myself up to new challenges in my work.
