Cardiff has always been one of the cities on the top of my UK travel destination list, so when the time finally came to celebrate the official opening of Central Cardiff’s newest and most luxurious play space, The Nest, expertly crafted and curated by my wonderful client The Siren, I could not pack my photography equipment into the car fast enough!
And I have to say, this play space is something truly special. As some of my long term clients might be aware, I’ve had the pleasure of offering vintage makeover days in several beautiful play spaces over the years – most notably in the vintage inspired boudoir room of Murder Mile Studios – but what sets The Nest apart from every other play space I’ve shot in is its sumptuous use of bold colour. And sure, I’m slightly biased because I’ll never pass up the opportunity to take photographs in an interior that perfectly matches my own branding colours… but the resulting images of Siren are absolutely glorious.
The Nest is a large high-ceilinged contemporary space split into two distinct areas. Firstly, there’s the chill out space, featuring golden mustard walls, soft warm lighting, comfortable seating and lots of soft furnishings featuring botanical prints. Then there’s the teal space, which continues the botanical theme with botanical feature wallpaper whilst housing a combination dungeon, spanking bench, wall mounted bondage bed, with a huge array of tools and toys.
And when I say a huge array… The Siren and I carefully curated this wall to be aesthetically pleasing for the photographs, removing around half of the content that was available – not to mention other areas of the room!
Located just a 5 minute walk from Cardiff Queen Street Station, and with several hotel options in the area, The Nest is perfectly situated for those wanting to book an empowering boudoir photoshoot experience with me and then stay over in central Cardiff for the weekend as a mini getaway. I’ll be adding The Nest to my list of recommended boudoir shoot locations in my Welcome To The Boudoir PDF Guide, along with all the other gorgeous locations in my Little Black Book of Locations, taking the stress out of finding the perfect location for your next boudoir shoot with me.
There is also potential for me to organise a Vintage Makeover Day event at this venue too, so if you’d be interested, let me know!
