Last year, I fell in love a little bit with Photography Farm. Founded back in 2011 by award winning photographer Lisa Devlin, it was such a privilege to be invited along to present my Art Of Boudoir masterclass – and an even bigger privilege to be invited back a year later to present my signature style of vintage inspired boudoir photography to a sold out class of boudoir enthusiasts!
This year, I was really keen to utilise the entire attic space, complete with beautiful wooden floors, exposed beams and original windows. With two boudoirs up in the attic, the layout was perfectly set up for the addition of a second model, giving the attendees even more shooting time to perfect their posing techniques that we had focused on early in the morning.
The quality of light is a well-discussed conversation at Photography Farm; we are blessed every year with beautiful light, despite not always the greatest weather! Both of the attic boudoirs have well placed windows, so for the morning I decided to have a play with natural light and stretch myself out of my comfort zone with burlesque performer Felicity Furore. Having spent last summer working on my Summer Of Love project (soon to be blogged) and fine tuning my available light skills, I really enjoyed the challenge of working harder for my light source.
I had so much fun teaching the Art Of Boudoir masterclass, so I would love to extend a massive thank you to Lisa for having me back! Here are some of my favourite natural light photos of Felicity, taken on a Canon 5D MKiii with a 50mm 1.4. Wearing a longline bra, knickers, girdle and stockings from What Katie Did, complimented by my favourite leopard dressing gown by Betty Blue’s Loungerie, I love how the natural tones of the room compliment Felicity’s outfit.
More images of Felicity and the other Art Of Boudoir model Luna will be on the blog next week.
