Hello gorgeous! How are you? I swear time does not stick to the normal rules during this post-Christmas, pre-New Year week. Meals consisting entirely of weird leftover combinations are the norm, alarm clocks cease to be required and you need to do a Google search every time you leave the house to find out what that business’ current opening hours are!
Last year, I decided to start a new business tradition I call the 12 Days of Tigzmas, which highlights the successes of the business over the last calendar year in a series of twelve social media posts. The name is totally self-indulgent, I know, but actually, it comes from an inside joke with friends that there are twelve days between my birthday and Christmas (inclusive) and so because of everyone else’s Christmas commitments, I end up seeing different friends at different times and end up receiving a gift pretty much every day between the two!
You can find all of these posts on my Instagram and Facebook pages if you’re a social media type of human, but for those of you who are less social media inclined, I have grouped all of this glorious content together for you into one easily digestible blog post below…
Day One – Branding By Tigz Launch
On the first day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… The launch of Branding By Tigz, including a brand-new dedicated website! My signature style of empowering photography has always translated well into the world of personal branding, commercial and editorial photography, but more recently a few of you have also discovered I have a degree in illustration and a background in graphic design, so have the skills to take on other business-related creative projects like logo design, brand identity work and website design.
The rise in demand for these services over lockdown meant that it was finally time to give this area with my business its own website and finally show the full diversity of creative services I have to offer. So, if you know anyone that’s looking for a business or personal brand identity level up in 2022 and would prefer for it all to be done under one roof with the same creative team, you know where to send them!
Day Two – Virtual Boudoir Shoot Days
On the second day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… The permanent feature of Virtual Boudoir Shoots! Whilst virtual shoots were designed to help us all feel connected and get creative during a global pandemic, I quickly realised that it has provided an opportunity to connect with so many of you that were previously limited geographically from working with me. Having now worked in over 13 countries – including 19 of the US states – it is clear that there is an ongoing place for virtual boudoir shoot within my permanent services. With that in mind, I’ve had a rejig of my Virtual Boudoir Shoot packages and these will be a permanent feature on the website.
Day Three – House Of Burlesque Shoot
On the third day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… The opportunity to create some gorgeous new personal branding images for the House of Burlesque team. Featuring gorgeous lingerie from Kiss Me Deadly and two decadent Boudoir By D’Lish robes, the shoot took place at my favourite art deco cocktail bar, Fontaine’s. Finding that perfect sweet spot between Burlesque Beauty and Badass Boss, this is a perfect example of my two brands colliding. Doesn’t Tempest Rose look incredible? I feel like I might have to level up my work wardrobe after this shoot!
Day Four – Top 40 Digital Women to Watch
On the fourth day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… A nomination for a business award! One of my proudest achievements this year has been making the Top 40 Digital Women To Watch list for 2021 and being shortlisted for Digital Woman Of The Year. I’ve always been a self-professed girl geek with a love for technology, so being recognised in this way is such a huge honour. The results were announced in November whilst I’ve been off on medical leave, so I will update you all on my return.
Day Five – Art Of Boudoir Masterclass
On the fifth day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… The return of The Art of Boudoir Masterclass! Yes, after a three-year hiatus (thanks Covid) on Wednesday, January 26th 2022 at Fontaine’s Bar in London, I will be bringing back my Art Of Boudoir Photography Masterclass. This masterclass is perfect for you if you’re looking to add boudoir to your repertoire of photography skills. Proving popular with seasoned portrait and wedding photographers who want to offer an additional service, the masterclass also attracts photography enthusiasts who are excited by the world of boudoir and want to experience a shoot under the guidance and support of a leading industry professional. Day Six – Boudoir Makeover Days
On the sixth day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… A relaunch of my Boudoir Makeover Days! That’s right, my bags are packed and I’m ready to travel the UK again bringing my signature style of photography to a series of the U.K.’s most decadent boudoir spaces. Starting with Fontaine’s, my most requested boudoir location, there is one final space available on my Galentine’s special on the 14th of February (with Ms Moo Make Up and Kate Roe providing styling) and further availability for May 30th and 31st. I will also be announcing some other venues in the New Year, so watch this space!
Day Seven – The Lingerie Addict
On the seventh day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… A virtual shoot with the one and only Cora, founder of The Lingerie Addict. Photographing Cora is a dream and I’m always excited to see what lingerie joy she will curate for our next shoot. I absolutely loved this floral lingerie set by Playful Promises teamed with the bright pink stockings – it was the perfect outfit to show off her luxurious new eye masks (which are available to buy in both pink and green via her website).
Day Eight – Sassy Sarah
On the eighth day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… A luxury birthday boudoir shoot with the one and only, sassy Sarah Shuttle! Sarah’s boudoir shoot is a beautiful love letter to her body and it was such a privilege to be a small part of her transformation and document her journey of empowerment. “It was so much fun! It was empowering and just so enjoyable. Tigz really put me at ease and we had a laugh. I’ve been in front of the camera before but not in my underwear. Day Nine – Licensed Drone Pilot
On the ninth day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… My drone pilot’s license! As someone who has been obsessed with planes for absolutely years, it was only a matter of time before I decided to try my hand at drone photography. I passed my pilot theory test in September, and my inaugural flight was the first week of October. Obviously, I’ve not had a huge amount of time to perfect my drone flying skills due to being off for the last two months for surgery. However, I can’t wait to get out flying again in January and add this to my repertoire of photography services. Can you imagine how cool it would be to have some aerial shots and video on your outdoor boudoir shoot?! Watch this space…
Day Ten – Helena
On the tenth day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me…Gorgeous shoot as Fontaine’s with Miss Helena Dawson. I absolutely adore this golden lingerie set that Helena wore for her shoot, it matches the decor so perfectly! A fact, I walked away from that shoot coveting Helena’s entire shoot wardrobe. Have you seen the floor-length gold sequin gown she also wore for the shoot? To die for!
Day Eleven – Surgery
On the eleventh day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… A surgery date! As you probably already know by now I’ve been out of the studio since November for an operation on a dorsal ganglion cyst on my left wrist. This is actually the longest I’ve been away from work now, but my #QueenOfSocials Ms Moo has been amazing at scheduling some gorgeous social content on Instagram and Facebook for you all in my absence. I’ll be back in the studio on 17th January I honestly can’t wait to get back behind the camera create some amazing photos with you all!
Day Twelve – New For 2022
On the twelfth day of Tigzmas, my true love gave to me… some incredible ideas for 2022! A lot has been going on behind-the-scenes this year, mainly because surgery and my health has taken priority, but I will let you in on a little secret… Over the last six months, I have been working on some exciting new course content for a brand-new educational platform I will be building in the New Year. I’ll be talking about this in more detail over the coming months – and yes this is totally a tease – But it will be worth the wait, I promise!
