Florrie Von Cloudberry is a kick ass pin up queen from Helsinki and was one of a handful of stunning clients I had the privilege of photographing at Foxy Vixen’s Beauty Parlour whilst on tour last year with Miss Victory Violet. Currently competing in the Miss Viva Las Vegas Pin Up contest, I decided to catch up with Florrie and interview her about her shoot experience…
Name: Florrie Von Cloudberry
Occupation: Pinup model & vintage enthusiast
How would your best friend describe you? I don’t literally have a person in my life that people usually call best friend. But I’ve heard from my friends I’m creative, passion, persistent, pedantic and I have a great sense of humor and it’s very often quite black.
Name three things that you always carry with you? Lipstick, phone and good attitude.
What was the last book you read? The Da Vinci Code. A great mixture of fiction, facts, adventure, symbolic and thriller. And it offers you a lot of sightseeing in historical spots in the Central Europe too.
What inspired you to book a photoshoot? To get to work with Miss Victory Violet & Tigz – do I even need to say more?
Who would play you in a movie of your life? This is a very hard one. I love many actresses but I’m afraid I can’t name anyone so I’d probably play the role myself. It’s hard to be as odd as I am.
Whats the most interesting thing about Florrie Von Cloudberry that the internet doesn’t know yet? When I was a kid I wanted to become a biologist – among million other things on the list.
Tell us about one of the outfits you wore for your shoot – why do you love it? I was wearing the Map Lingerie created by What Katie Did. It’s one of my all time favorites from them and I knew right away that I want to shoot in it.
Describe your shoot experience? Just wonderful. Tigz and Ella were so professional and warm-hearted. [Tigz is] one of those photographers who is such a pro in guiding their models [to ease] doubt. I absolutely want to [re-shoot] with you someday.
What song gets you on the dancefloor? Umm I don’t dance, if you don’t lead. Then will it be anything between old jazz and swing classics.
What are you most proud of in your career so far? Collaborations with a few brands such as Voodoo Vixen and Finnish iconic shoe brand Palmroth Original. Also of course the opportunity to shoot with you and Ella. And the published pictures in Bombshell Magazine.
What is your top body confidence tip? Be yourself, that’s all. But there’s also one thing I want to say; if you have any [part of] your body you would like to and are able to do something about, for God’s sake, go for it. It’s your body, no one else’s. It’s body positivity too.
What will your autobiography be called? This is also awfully hard one. “The Eccentricity of Me”, I really don’t know.
If you could be a model for any brand, which brand would it be and why? Bettie Page Lingerie and What Katie Did would be a dream to get to work with because I just love their lingerie so much. Voodoo Vixen, Vivien of Holloway or Miss Candyfloss would sound fabulous too.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about booking a session of their own? Go for it, really. You will have a very unforgettable day with Tigz.
What exciting project are you working on right now? I’m working on something very exciting, but at this point it hasn’t been announced yet. Of course, if I’ll enter Viva Las Vegas, it will be such a big project through this spring.
