An Interview With: Virtual Boudoir Client Jenny Deadly

Nov 18, 2020 | Boudoir, Boudoir Interviews, Interviews, Virtual Boudoir Shoot

Don’t you just love it when Social Media introduces you to the most awesome humans? Well today, let me pay it forward and introduce you to the wonderful Jenny Deadly, who fell into my life via an Instagram algorithm and we’ve been DM’ing ever since! Having recently shot together on a Virtual Boudoir Shoot via Facetime, it is my absolute pleasure to bring these images to the blog today as I ask Jenny Deadly about their shoot experience…

Jenny Deadly

Occupation: Biologist

How would your best friend describe you? Definitely odd!

Name three things that you always carry with you? It’s a boring answer, but wallet keys and phone.

Do you remember how you originally found me? On Instagram, you were recommended by the algorithm. For once it worked!

What was the last book you read? Sasha Swire’s diaries of being an MP’s wife. So gossipy and confirmed all my worst prejudices about politicians!

What inspired you to book a photoshoot? I’ve been missing the excuse to get glammed up in lockdown, and a virtual shoot was the perfect excuse to get my seams straight and my hair done.

Who would play you in a movie of your life? That’s a tricky one. I don’t much identify with the stars, but maybe Jeffrey Combs. He looks slightly like boy-me and I think he’s crazy enough to pull off a non-binary role.

Whats the most interesting thing about you that the internet doesn’t know about you yet? Honestly, the Internet knows most of the interesting things about me, which I keep the real world in the dark about, ha. I do have terrible bunions though. I keep that quiet…

Tell us about one of the outfits you wore for your shoot – why do you love it? Rufflebutt knickers from Kiss Me Deadly -these are seriously the most amazing knickers ever, I’ll have to be buried in them.

Describe your shoot experience? Heaps of fun! Tigz is supportive and funny and chatty and the only part that didn’t work as a virtual shoot is that I’d have enjoyed a glass of wine and a natter at the end of the shoot.

What song gets you on the dancefloor? Sheriff Fatman by Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine. 80’s indie kid!

What are you most proud of in your career so far? Making it in academia, which is a poisonous, political and paranoid career to find yourself in. And staying sane.

What is your top body confidence tip? This won’t help most people, but the right answer is ‘be a man’. I’m endlessly self critical of girl-me when I go out for the night, but couldn’t care less what I look like when I’m boy-me. It’s interesting to me that even within a single person, society’s double standards still have an effect.

What will your autobiography be called? An Opinion on Everything, Usually the Wrong One

If you could be a model for any brand, which brand would it be and why? Ugg Boots, because they’re warm, practical and very forgiving of my bunions.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about booking a session of their own? Just book it. Nothing bad can really happen!

What exciting project are you working on right now? Right now I’m just doing regular work but if we hit Lockdown Two I’ve told myself I’ll learn Spanish to be a better traveler when this is all over!
