Interview: New Orleans Burlesque Performer Bella Blue

Mar 31, 2021 | Boudoir, Boudoir Interviews, Burlesque, Interviews, Virtual Boudoir Shoot

Do you remember when I first launched my Virtual Boudoir Shoots back in April 2020? I genuinely had no idea how popular they would be, or the fact that in 2021 they would still be a regular part of my daily like as a boudoir and burlesque photographer! Today, I thought I’d throwback to one of my very first ever virtual photoshoots with New Orleans burlesque performer and ‘unicorn stripper witch’ (love that title!) Bella Blue, who attended her remote shoot via an iPhone 8 Plus. Want to find out more about Bella Blue and her Virtual Boudoir Shoot experience? Read on…

Bella Blue

Occupation: So many things right now because of Covid. In general, unicorn stripper witch.

How would your best friend describe you? I think they would say determined, goal oriented, and loyal.

Name three things that you always carry with you: Mascara, my big blue water cup, and ear buds.

What was the last book you read? I am constantly always reading at least 2-3 books at once and it takes me a while to finish any of them. But most recently a book of poetry by Dakota Adan called “Beloved”

Do you remember how you originally found me? I saw your images posted by some friends that you shot in Las Vegas and went down the rabbit hole from there. I didn’t think we’d ever get a chance to shoot but the pandemic allowed us to cross the distance limitations and our first virtual shoot went really well <3

What inspired you to book a virtual shoot? I wanted some new images in general and just wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to work with you while I had the time to do it!

Who would play Bella Blue in a movie of your life? I would WANT Jessica Lange to play me. Or maybe Meryl Streep. I think because they both have qualities in them as women that I deeply admire and don’t see in myself on the regular, really.

What’s the most interesting thing about you that the internet doesn’t know about you yet? Oh lord….I share a lot on the internet. Lol! This is probably boring but, I am obsessive about my credit score. I love watching The Deadliest Catch. I’m terrified and fascinated by octopi.

Tell us about one of the outfits you wore for your virtual boudoir shoot – why do you love it? My friend Evelyn Devere has a lingerie company called Ulalume Lingerie and she made the set for me. It was a newer set and I hadn’t gotten to wear it much before the pandemic happened so I felt like it needed time to shine!

Describe your shoot experience? Super easy, relaxed, and comfortable. We chatted the whole time and also collaborated in the moment on locations, lighting, and energy.

What song gets you on the dancefloor? Dance Magic Dance by David Bowie. Labyrinth is my favorite movie ever!

What are you most proud of in your life so far? My kids are alive and well and thriving in their own ways.
I have managed to crush some goals that I didn’t think would ever be possible (buying property, for instance)
I’ve gone back to school and am pursuing a degree. Overcoming some pretty intense PTSD.

What is your top body confidence tip? Accept the ebbs and flows, day by day. Don’t try to force yourself to feel any certain way about your body in the moment if it doesn’t feel authentic. I have found that acknowledging whatever I am feeling about it – good or bad – tends to have less power over me if I just acknowledge it and move forward with my day,

What will your autobiography be called? Probably would be called “400%” because my partner always teases me that I do everything 400%…whether it’s laundry or work or parenting or stripping. Lol.

If you could be a model for any brand, which brand would it be and why? I would probably just want to model fancy stockings in the nude wearing bad ass shoes. Is there a company that fills those requirements? (I really am not privy to brand names and such…if it looks good and fits, I’m sold.)

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about booking a boudoir shoot of their own? If you get a period, schedule it right after your period ends! This is usually when the body tend the most at balance hormonally. Stretch beforehand. Don’t wear what you think you’re “supposed” to wear. Wear the thing that makes you feel the most empowered and in your body!

What exciting project are you working on right now? The best way for people to support is to join my OnlyFans! It would mean a lot. It’s where I get to be creative and sexual and is a totally different than anything else I have available online! I have a really sweet community over on that site.
