FEATURE IN Neo-Burlesque: Striptease as Transformation

Oct 13, 2021

Hello, gorgeous! Want to hear some good news? One of my live photographs of the inimitable Dirty Martini has just been published in this gorgeous new book, Neo-Burlesque: Striptease as Transformation

Cover of new burlesque book Neo-Burlesque: Striptease as Transformation by Dr. Lynn Sally, featuring photography by UK Boudoir Photographer Tigz Rice

Releasing in a couple of weeks (October 30th 2022) through Rutger’s University Press, Neo-Burlesque: Striptease as Transformation by Lynn Sally takes us on a guided tour of the burlesque revival movement from an academic viewpoint.

Featuring Dita Von Teese, Perle Noire, MsTickle, Julie Atlas Muz and World Famous *BOB*, there is also a chapter on Dirty Martini (which just so happens to feature some of my live photography!) I’ve literally only just received my copy, so have had no more than a quick flick of the pages as I type, but once I’ve had a chance to give it a read, I’ll be back with more of a review. In the meantime though, here’s a little review from the one and only Dita Von Teese…

“A thorough exploration of the genre, Lynn Sally’s insightful Neo-Burlesque: Striptease as Transformation has earned its place on the shelf of every neo-burlesque academic.”

Dita Von Teese

A huge heartfelt congratulations to Lynn Sally and a massive thank you for including my work in her book. It’s always such a privilege to be part of a book project like this and I hope the title is a huge success!

Ps, I’ve also added this book to my Burlesque Books To Inspire You blog post, where you can find lots more titles to fill your bookshelf (including my own book, STRIP/TEASE.)
