The other day I was sat thinking, ‘isn’t it incredible that I can photograph someone thousands and thousands of miles away, through an internet connection, with such minimal lag that we can create content at the same quality and speed as if we were in the same room?’ It blows my mind a little bit if I’m honest, but that’s exactly what happened when Luna Phaze hopped online for our Virtual Boudoir Shoot a few months ago to create these gorgeous images…
Luna Phaze
Occupation: Burlesque Performer
How would your best friend describe you? You can’t help but fall in love with her immediately! Her charm, energy and humour are captivating and disarming. She strives for authenticity and vulnerability in her life and in her relationships. She’s supportive, and validating but raw and honest in the most loving way, even if its a hard conversation. I am so grateful to call her my best friend and I know she makes the world a better place with all she brings, every day!
Name three things that you always carry with you? Mascara, red lipstick, sparkle mints
What was the last book you read? Braving the Wilderness, Brene Brown.
Do you remember how you originally found me? I saw pics from BHOF that had your name on it. It was a fun trip down the rabbit hole from there 😉
What inspired you to book a photoshoot? Your images are so classy, elegant and timeless. Every review I read had the kindest things to say about you. Also – the virtual shoot concept. The option to shoot with you would likely not be possible with me in Oregon and you in the UK.
Who would play Luna Phaze in a movie of your life? Ooh! Good Question! Julia Roberts
What’s the most interesting thing about you that the internet doesn’t know about you yet? I was a Rave Kid in the 90’s.
Tell us about one of the outfits you wore for your shoot – why do you love it? The Monica dress from Pin Up Clothing with a What Katie Did corset underneath. The Monica was the first fancy pin-up dress I ever bought for myself. It’s been a part of some incredible memories in my life. It hadn’t yet been captured on film. It always feels good to wiggle back into it!
Describe your shoot experience? So personal and lovely! Tigz made me feel so beautiful and so comfortable! Her direction and encouragement helped me to find my most confident self which translated into the images she captured. I love her attention to every tiny detail – my necklace being straight, my knickers having the same line as my girdle, how my fingers looked, toes pointed to the pointest they’ll go. That stuff can make or break your photo!
What song gets you on the dancefloor? Any mix by DJ Ernest Ryan
What are you most proud of in your life so far? My journey to love my body just the way it is. Regardless of what the media or anyone else tells me it should look like.
What is your top body confidence tip? Look in the mirror and find one part of your body you like, even if it’s one tiny inch of skin. Spend some time gazing at it and filling it with love and gratitude. Now find a part of your body that you don’t like. Spend twice as long gazing at it and filling it with love and gratitude. Rinse and repeat. Every. Single. Day.
What will your autobiography be called? Whew! What a Ride!
If you could be a model for any brand, which brand would it be and why? What Katie Did. I love, love, love corsets. I love pin-up! I love to be a pin-up in a corset!
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about booking a boudoir shoot of their own? DO IT! Get out of your own way! Take a deep breath and push against your fear of “not being enough”. Wear something that makes you feel your most beautiful. Book the shoot, trust Tigz! She’s gonna help you to see the beauty in yourself that she sees in you.
