Happy New Year lovelies! It is my first full week back in the studio after the festive break – and I’ve finally had a chance to sit down and start processing how amazing 2018 was, both personally and professionally. Not only was it the year James and I decided to elope to Glencoe (more on that in a future post), I spent the latter part of the year travelling all over Europe on a series of wonderful work opportunities, from Frankfurt and Naples to Gothenburg, Helsinki and Paris. It went by in such a whirlwind of excitement that I didn’t get a chance to celebrate my ninth business birthday as per tradition, or even announce something so exciting I keep pinching myself to check that its real: I’m publishing a book!

If you follow me on Instagram then you may have caught a very excited live video back in December where in a slightly overwhelmed and emotional state I mentioned this, but now that its starting to sink in a little, here’s a little more info! At the beginning of last year, I began talks with a wonderful independent publishing house, Working Class Publishing. Based in Wisconsin, USA, they specialise in publishing high quality, innovative titles and have worked with some of my favourite photographers in the pin up and boudoir niche, including Lars Kommienezuspadt, Claire Seville and Shannon Brooke. Honestly, I can’t tell you how excited I am to be joining such a line up of talent! We signed the official contracts at the end of October and things have been quietly progressing since as I’m coming to terms with the fact that one of my biggest career goals is actually coming true!

As yet, the book is untitled, but it will be focusing on my work within the burlesque community over the past decade, from those early days at Proud Cabaret – when I was finding my feet as a photographer – to my most recent burlesque-apades with notable performers throughout the international burlesque scene. There will be some throwbacks to my proudest moments of my career, alongside some never seen before images too. And the release date? Nothing set in stone as yet, but if all goes to plan it will be launched around the time of my 10th business birthday (Christmas 2019), so keep an eye out for regular updates on the blog, and make sure you’re on the mailing list to get your hands on a copy first when the release date is announced!

In the meantime, if there are any international burlesque performers making 2019 travel plans to Europe/UK right now and would be interested in shooting with me for the book, please get in touch with links to your websites and social media accounts. I’d especially love to have a few more performers representing the USA burlesque community!
