Want to know a secret? I am 100% a millennial pink type of human, so on the odd occasion that I do get to work on a full pink shoot, you can guarantee I’ve got a smile on my face that reaches from ear to ear all day! One such recent shoot was this ballet themed lifestyle shoot for unique, vintage-inspired handbag brand Vendula London, featuring the wonderful Blossom&Buttercups aka Sam Elson. Read on to find out more…
Styling a Ballet Themed Lifestyle Shoot
Since most of the photography campaigns Sam and I work on are very vintage led in terms of styling, it was amazing to have the opportunity to work on a much softer styling concept for this shoot, drawing inspiration from contemporary ballet fashion with a faux wraparound body combined with a floaty tulle midi skirt. It was also a much softer makeup look than usual – swapping winged eyeliner and dramatic lashes for a dewy, natural glow and a nude lip. We also swapped vintage pin curls for a relaxed ballet bun with plait detailing and a hair ribbon, and a natural shade of nail varnish for the finishing touch.
Diverse Influencer Content
The shoot also included a selection of e-commerce shots for Vendula London’s website alongside the lifestyle shots for use on social media, covering all of the client’s model-based photographic needs in one shoot. You know me, always doing my best to keep things as streamlined as possible for my branding clients! Usually, we’d also include some behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot day itself to post as stories on our own social media, but as the product was still under wraps, there were no boomerangs or reels created on this occasion!
