I think its fair to say my comfort zones are being well and truly been smashed this year! Earlier this week I made my second appearance as the host of Adobe’s Love Taking Photos? photography event, an online photography stream sharing interviews, tips and tricks from some of Instagram’s most followed photographers. Heading into the London studio for the second time this year, it was such a privilege to be back with the Adobe team. Before I’d even walked through the front door, I’d had a warm welcome from some of the production team in the car park and I just knew the evening was going to be just as much fun as the last event.
During the event, it was an absolute pleasure to meet freelance photographer Alistair Horne, photographer and blogger Carolyn Stritch (aka The Slow Traveler), freelance photographer Julia Smith (aka Humphrey and Grace) and photographer and videographer Ryan Howard. Four amazing photographers from different parts of the photographic industry, all with their own unique stories to tell.
What I love about watching other photographers edit is that we all have our own unique ways of working and using the same tools to curate our own expression of style. I bonded over a mutual dislike of the colour green with Julia, but also found it interesting to watch Ryan removing yellow and blue from his images, whilst Alistair drawing out the orange and green in his. There’s also a really interesting part of the conversation with Carolyn about how she chooses to appear in her photos. If you’ve got some time to spare, I’ve embedded the video above and its well worth a watch. Grab the popcorn and get comfy on the sofa!
Its also a pleasure to include a few photographs below, taken behind the scenes at the studio by Peter Harding, one of the awesome team behind the camera, who gives me my entrance cues and holds ups signs to keep me on schedule! It is great to see the team working during the show in the other room too, which is something I never get to see. A huge thank you to Peter for allowing me to share them with you.
