In the not so distant past, shopping for lingerie with a fuller bust could be pretty soul destroying. If you’re fuller-busted like me, you’ll know too well that sinking feeling of walking past all the pretty, colourful and lacy bras in the lingerie shop and heading straight into the ‘beige’ section. You know the bit I mean – that back part of the lingerie department, where style and colour are replaced by pure functionality and lingerie only exists in white or light-skinned ‘nude’! Thankfully, times are a-changing, with some amazing companies pushing the boundaries of the fuller-busted lingerie drawer right now, providing a wide variety of bra styles in all the colours of the rainbow. My boudoir clients often ask me for lingerie recommendations in the lead up to their shoots, so I thought I’d put my borderline obsession (oh, who am I kidding?) with lingerie to good use and list you 10 absolutely awesome boudoir-worthy lingerie brands worth checking out for fuller busts (plus a few extras that I’ve updated this post with since!)…
Curvy Kate; 28-44 D-K
The biggest selection of D+ bras, with a wonderful range in back sizes too. Those with small back sizes and large cups, rejoice! The Curvy Kate girls have fitted me twice over the last 5 years and their fit (for me, anyway) is always spot on. They’re also a brilliant brand for body positivity – take a look at their #MyBodyVictory hashtag on Instagram for some amazing stories from all body sizes about how people have learnt to fall in love with their body.
Scantilly; 30-40 DD-HH
The sexier sister company of Curvy Kate, housing your curves in up to an HH cup. Think faux leather, leopard print, bondage strap details and a little bit of kink! You can also read about “The Most Diverse Lingerie Campaign” I shot for them here! There aren’t enough words in the world to say how proud I am to have worked on this campaign.
Freya; 28-40 B-K
Freya is great for fuller figure swimwear, lingerie and sportswear – and they celebrate their 20th birthday this year! This is the company I got my white bikini from for my hen do earlier in the year and what I love about their bikini range is that they do mix and match elements, so you can choose the perfect style for your curves. As well as beautiful everyday lingerie they’ve got super instructional videos about finding the right fit for you. They are part of Wacoal Europe, which leads me nicely to…
Elomi; 32-46 D-K
Available up to a K cup and a bigger back size than Freya, Elomi is also part of Wacoal Europe. Elomi pride themselves on coupling elegance and total comfort, their lingerie (and now swimwear!) is created with set key features with the fuller bust in mind. I sit just below their size range, so I can’t recommend from personal experience, BUT check out this set below on Fuller Figure Fuller Bust’ Georgina! Their AW18 look book is well worth a look at too!
Kiss Me Deadly; 28-44 A-G
Glamourous 40’s and 50’s inspired lingerie and fashion, inspired by the darker side of retro styling. Think more femme fatale! They’ve also got super information about sizing and fitting, but it’s the last line of their sizing information that I love; ‘But ultimately, wear what you like – there’s no evidence that anything dreadful will happen if you get your bra size “wrong”, and they’re not compulsory!’ Isn’t that brilliant?!
Playful Promises; 28-44 A-G
A great tagline of lingerie “which mixes quirky, directional design with all things playful, flirty and even a little bit dirty.” Along with guest collaborations by Hunter McGrady and Gabi Fresh, founder Emma Parker is also the founder of fuller bust friendly brands Wolf & Whistle, Peak & Beau and my personal favourite Bettie Page Lingerie, shown on Georgie Glamour below! Did I mention they do a leopard version of this set too….
Panache; 28-46 D-K
These globally successful lingerie designers and manufacturers boast almost 30 years’ experience, having won numerous awards for their sportswear range. They are the only brand I trust to support my boobs in the gym, having worn various colour ways of their Sports Wired Bra for many years (currently black with orange and leopard print details, naturally!)
Miss Vivienne Lingerie; 28-40 B-G
Based in the Scottish borders, Vivienne Lynch specialises in high-quality, empowering, inclusive lingerie, that is also ethically and sustainably made in the UK. All of her fabrics and components are sourced locally and she regularly has limited edition ranges, making Miss Vivienne Lingerie the perfect place to pick up something truly special.
Harlow and Fox; 30-38 DD-G
As well as offering luxury lingerie for the fuller bust, Harlow and Fox also offer a bespoke, custom lingerie service for those whose measurements sit outside of their ready to wear size range. I own a few Harlow and Fox sets from seasons past, but the Serena set in ivory, photographed on Miss Victory Violet below, is a thing of beauty.
Tutti Rouge; 28-44 D-J
Affordable fuller bust lingerie from this UK based brand. I even review their lingerie on my own body here. Clear sizing information, a great range of styles, colours.
Ewa Michalak; 28-42 AA-M
This is another brand I’ve not tried myself, but having had the pleasure of photographing Ewa Michalak creations on Fuller Figure Fuller Bust’s Georgina several times over the years, they have some beautiful styles and colour ways that are a joy to photograph. I had to use some Google-fu to check the sizing for the Polish brand, but their sizing easily goes up to a 42 back and M cup size. I love that Ewa also does nursing bras that are stylish, functional and pretty!
