In the autumn of 2014, I received a Twitter notification that had me literally jumping up and down in my studio chair. It was Cora Harrington from The Lingerie Addict: “Hey! When I get to the UK next, we should get together. :-)”
For those of you that haven’t come across Cora before, she is the founder and editor in chief of The Lingerie Addict, the world’s largest blog dedicated to the fashion of intimate apparel. Currently ranked (at last check) around 91,000th in the list of the top ranking global websites, The Lingerie Addict is a respected voice within the global lingerie community and has been a staple read in my daily online library (of sorts) for several years. The prospect of getting to spend some time with Cora genuinely filled me with excitement.
Fast forward almost a year and it turned out Cora was going to be in the UK this summer for the Oxford Conference Of Corsetry. Both our schedules were pretty tight as I was also shooting at the conference, but we managed to squeeze in a few hours of studio time on the Friday before Cora caught a train up to the conference. With hair and make up by Miss Honey Bare, Cora’s wardrobe included a blue silk camisole and knicker set by Fleur of England, stockings by Nubian Skin, a black and gold lace bra and knickers set by Edge O’ Beyond, a silk and lace chemise by Angela Friedman, as well as robes by Trashy Diva and Naked Princess.
Cora is a naturally elegant muse, with fluid, seemingly effortless transitions between poses. The way she manipulated her body in front of the camera reminded me of a dancer; dancers of course being one of my favourite subjects to shoot. It really was a pleasure to work with her and I hope I get the chance to again in the future.
