This year, I’m excited to announce that we will be back at Fontaine’s, East London’s most decadent Art Deco cocktail bar and one of my absolute favourite places to shoot. Drawing from over a decade of experience and expertise in the realms of burlesque, lingerie and boudoir photography, you’ll spend a day with me, Tigz Rice, discovering how to capture your clients at their very best in the most beautiful of venues. This is a fully interactive masterclass, giving you the opportunity to learn and develop your skills as a photographer through being physically involved in the process. Bring your camera and make sure it’s fully charged, because you’ll be needing it! In the morning we’ll start off with a posing game, exploring traditional pin up and boudoir poses. You will practise guiding your subject into a range of standing, sitting and reclining poses, developing your skills in direction as well as establishing an empowering, body-positive dialogue to use with your clients. We will then introduce 2 models into the boudoir scenario, where you’ll have a chance to put your new skills to the test: photographing a range of images for your portfolio across a plethora of different lingerie looks and styles.

Throughout the Empowerment Photography Masterclass, you will be given the chance to get to grips with both continuous light and flash photography helping you to explore your own unique boudoir style. In the final hour of the workshop, we’ll have a Q&A, giving you an insight into the business side of boudoir photography. From making sure clients turn up prepared for their shoot to managing client expectations before, during and after their time in front of the camera; you will leave my masterclass with the skills you need to add boudoir to your repertoire of photographic skills.

Want to join us? Attending The Empowerment Photography Masterclass will cost an investment of £450.00. Once again, the masterclass will be held on Tuesday 3rd October 2023 and will run from 10am until 4pm with 4 hours minimum of shooting time. Strictly limited to a maximum of 8 attendees, you will be split into two smaller groups of 4 photographers per model for maximum shooting time. ACCESSIBILITY: To access the iconic blue and gold bar, there is one very shallow step at the entrance. This floor is wheelchair friendly. To access the green tiki bar area (optional), you will need to be able to climb one flight of steep, narrow stairs. This floor, unfortunately, is not wheelchair accessible. WHAT TO BRING: A DSLR or Compact Mirrorless Camera, 1-2 lenses of your choosing (I prefer a 24-70 f2.8 - you can hire one for the day here if desired) a packed lunch (although there's a fab sandwich place next door!) and a notebook if you wish to take notes.
