An Interview With: Boudoir Client Johanna

Sep 9, 2020 | Boudoir, Boudoir Interviews, Interviews

It is no secret that I LOVE heading out to Sweden each year for my vintage boudoir makeover days with Miss Victory Violet at Hotel Pigalle. We put a lot of pride into delivering the best experience possible, so it means the absolute world to us when clients come back and join us for a second shoot! One such client is Johanna: who not only has the most infectious laugh but – as you can see from the image below – can absolutely rock a power pose! Here’s a little more about Johanna and the inspiration behind this boudoir shoot…

Johanna

Occupation: CFO of a Timber and sawmill company in Sweden

How would your best friend describe you? Extroverted, handbag obsessed and a good baker. Probably also that I am in need of a bigger stage 😉

Name three things that you always carry with you? Oh, I only need my handbag really ? It is the size of a small country and holds absolutely everything. I could probably live a week using only what’s in the bag. I weighed it once and it turned out I carry 7 pounds on my shoulder ??

What was the last book you read? The Stupidity Paradox – on how ”positive thinking” in the workplace excludes critical analysis and makes companies lose their edge 😉 And Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for my son.

What inspired you to book a photoshoot? I just turned 40 and I figured I wanted to mark that occasion in some way. A bit of a crisis perhaps ? But also, who wouldn’t want to be dolled up and treated like a queen for a day if the opportunity was offered so close to home? I just couldn’t pass it up.

Who would play you in a movie of your life? Christina Henricks. That would be amazing.

Whats the most interesting thing about you that the internet doesn’t know about you yet? That I actually was in talks/negotiations for singing on a eurodance album in the late 90’s. That would probably have made my life take a drastically different turn if it would have happened.

Tell us about one of the outfits you wore for your shoot – why do you love it? The first time I shot with Tigz I spent hours and hours searching for the perfect lingerie – which I hid in all the pictures anyways ? For this time I invested in a corset from WKD and just teamed it with items I already had on hand. I focused on feeling comfortable (that being an oxymoron being laced in a corset, I know) and trying to let me take center stage, rather than the outfit. Tigz really is amazing at making you look your best so all the bells and whistles, although fun, really isn’t necessary .

Describe your shoot experience? I felt comfortable right from the start. Being cramped into a small bathroom and hair and make up done by the amazing miss Victory Violet while chatting away about all and nothing really was a great start. When the shoot started I decided to do a dress first, to ease into the routine and relax in front of the camera. A shoot with Tigz really is a workout! You stretch and bend and freeze and all your muscles are hard at work. For the lingerie shots I had some ideas which we discussed, and the trained eye of Tigz told me exactly what would work and from which angle. The time really flew by!

What song gets you on the dancefloor? Anything with a beat from from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. I love to dance. I was in musical theatre and performing arts before and the joy of dancing never really leaves

What are you most proud of in your career so far? Being 27 years old and in charge of the team that discussed new legislation for nuclear power plants in Sweden. I made arguments to the Swedish Radiations Safety Authority that made them amend paragraphs that dictated the run of nuclear power plants. I didn’t really see it at the time but that was a huge thing for a young woman who wasn’t even an Engineer (I have a degree in Business and one in Musical Theatre) to achieve.

What is your top body confidence tip? Find your happiness. Joy will always be more attractive than bodily features. And when in doubt – keep your heels high, chin up and lippy on!

What will your autobiography be called? Over The Top.

If you could be a model for any brand, which brand would it be and why? I would love to be a CEO of a company one day. And then I will gladly be both model and spokesperson for that company.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about booking a session of their own? When did you do something just for you? If you can’t remember – now is the time. Plus you’ll get the greatest profile pic ever for social media.

What exciting project are you working on right now? I need to find a new project! Lately it has been way too much work and too little play. And especially during this trying time we all need something to look forward to.
